Wireless bridge/client mode

Okay, I have a linksys wrt54gs ver 6 router that I just picked up today. What I want to do with it is to bridge it with a router supplied by windstream, so that my desktop upstairs has Internet access. How would I go about doing this?

install DD-WRT firmware and then configure it
