My ping will occasionally sky rocket when somebody on the network is using bandwidth (including myself). I know this shouldn't really be the case unless bandwidth is absolutely maxed and even then there should be contingency in the router to maintain low pings. For instance, right now dropbox is syncing lots of files and my speedtest results are 500 ms ping with 3.3 Mbps dl and 0.54 upload, my phone is getting 13 ms ping with 79.71 Mbps and windows is reporting that I'm downloading 10 Mbps, a third of the max bandwidth I ca probably get through the wireless card. I can't plug directly into the router and I don't know if my wireless card is just faulty. I also don't know how to verify whether the router is being difficult with the card or if the card is being difficult itself. I'm at my whits end really and I'm completely lost. The wifi card itself is a pci tplink 300 MBps internal with antennae with dual band on windows 10. The router is a proprietary ISP one, but my phone and MacBook both work seamlessly with it.
