Wireless Connectivity Issue

I've recently purchased a Virgin Mobile OVERDRIVE PRO 3G/4G MOBILE HOTSPOT broadband device. I'm trying to connect to the internet using it, but when I use the Windows 7 WiFi manager, it won't connect. Long story short, the WiFi manager recognizes the device, even prompts me for a security code, but when I enter the code, I get "windows is unable to connect to..." I'm trying to figure out why this happens. I've had this problem before using certain networks, but usually when I reboot the laptop, it connects after a few more tries. Is there a specific reason for this and can I fix the problem?
