Wireless extension with old Router

I currently use a DLink AC1200 router as my access point within my house. I enjoy using the 5 GHZ connection for the faster speeds, but it of course limits the range. My house is large enough to also start to limit the 2.4 GHZ. I have an old Belkin N router just sitting around. Using MoCA through my cable box I can get a hardwired connection up to where I would place the second router. Would this work as an extender? Also would it only reproduce the 2.4 GHZ connection or just the 5? I believe when I used the N router it only had one signal (my guess is it was 2.4 GHZ). I read up a little on bridging routers, but was unsure if hardwiring the two together would be better, or even possible. I of course want the same SSID so I do not need to continually change which router I am connecting to.

Thanks, I hope I explained this well enough.

Solution
The 2nd router should be placed on a different floor than the main router. It should be configured as an Access Point (AP).

The N router will send out 2.4 GHz (some also did 5 GHz, but it did not appear as a separate network).

MoCA can work for the connection. The ideal would be to connect them via CAT 5e, but you need to run cable for that.
