I work at a local IT help desk, we fixed up a computer and were doing some finishing touches on a customer's laptop before we called them up to let them know that their computer was done. We discovered that the wireless icon on the computer wasn't showing up in the usual spot. This all happened before I got to work when I got there a co worker was on the laptop in RegEdit. He finished up what he was doing and then restarted the computer. I asked him to make a system restore point, but he didn't. Now the wireless icon appears but it is showing up as the "Connections are available in your area" icon (even though it is connected to the network) instead of the usual connectivity bars. Any ideas?

The Notebook is a Dell XPS L502X P11F

I uninstalled the notebook's wireless drivers from device manager and re-installed them. The wireless icon is now displaying correctly and the system is running well and so far no errors have come up.
