Wireless Interference between number of offices

I have an AP in my office having 2 SSIDs running on channel 1(not able to change ). Using INSSIDER , i checked the surrounding network. The nearby offices SSIDs are running on the same channel. Will this create interference on my wireless ?

In general it will cause interference if someone else is trying to use the same channels. It is really tough to find channels nobody else is using now days. It is very common for people wanting to get high speed to run 40mhz which means it takes either the bottom 2/3 or the top 2/3 of the total of 60mhz available. ..ie it uses channels 1&6 or channels 6 & 11.

There really is no way to fix this. Now seeing a SSID on insidder does not mean a real lot. A channel with lots of low utilization networks will be better than a channel with only a single ssid that is being used a lot. inssider does not actually measure the traffic only the number of AP/SSID it sees.

One trick that works for routers that have auto detection is to take a router and put like 50 different ssid on a channel it does not even have to be connected to anything. This should trick the auto routers into not using the channels...and people who use inssider will also likely be fooled and pick a different channel. So you in effect scare people away.....doesn't work for stupid people who just use something silly like channel 3 because they don't know any better.
