I posted this a couple of weeks ago and no responses; apparently it’s too baffling or I’m just too verbose. I’m editing this and trying again.

Here’s the most important details, quick short and sweet:

• Acer Aspire laptop
• Windows 8.1
• Broadcom wireless adapter card
• Wireless internet reception keeps disconnecting frequently
• Did a search and have tried literally every fix that I could find, probably 6 or 7 different solutions, and none have worked

Does anyone have any ideas what the issue could be and how to fix it?

when will it disconnect?

if after you wake up from an idle state and it disconnects then
go to your wireless properties
configure
powermanagement
and untick where it says allow computer to turn off this device to save power

if it disconnects while you are working
then uninstall the wifi drivers, restart the system and install the recent drivers

if you are working in office, just check you are not disconnected through DHCP with your admin
