Wireless mouse lag

I have a Trust wireless mouse with a tiny USB proprietary receiver onnected to my desktop PC, which has absolutely no wireless devices beside this mouse. The mouse is in range of less than 5ft/1,5m and its battery is full. Despite theoretically good conditions, being the closest wireless device to my PC and, most of the time, the only wireless device around, it lags significantly. Is there any possibility to fix that? Any hardware mods allowed.

Is the adapter plugged intot he front of the pc? if not then move it.

no, it is not, but I need free ports in front of me

Do it as a test, You can always purchase a usb extension cable and put the adapter in a better spot. PC cases tend to block the signal as do 2ltr bottles of diet pepsi from my personal experience LOL
