Wireless mouse turns off randomly

I have a HP wireless X3500 mouse, I have had this mouse four about 4 months and never had any problems with it. I noticed yesterday that at random times the mouse stops working (the optical light at the bottom turns off), but turns back on when I press any button on the mouse. I have done some research and tried changing USB power saving settings and reinstalling the drivers for the mouse but nothing helps. I have done basic troubleshooting like just changing port where the receiver dongle is in and changing the battery and nothing helps. I would appreciate some assistance solving this problem. The mouse would shut off when not used for a bit for power saving. When the light goes off, does it still move when you move it? Or does it stop working while you are actually moving it? Did you contact HP support or where you bought it if it's acting up?
