Wireless mouse without receiver

Hi i recently just found an old microsoft wireless laser mouse 6000 and it did not come with the receiver.
i do by chance have a wireless keyboard and mouse receiver that is just lying around.
the microsoft mouse does have a connect button on the bottom and i was wondering if i could some how get the mouse to work with the random receiver
please help, much appreciated

also i do have the cd install for the software of this mouse

In nearly all cases you will need the actual receiver for the mouse, and it runs on a different frequency than other relievers.
You can get a new mouse for about 15 bucks.

well i read on another forum on this website that you can but it needs a connect button on the bottom
