I built my own computer and decided to connect it wirelessly, I picked this adapter

TP-LINK TL-WN725N Wireless N Nano USB Adapter, 150Mbps
http://www.amazon.ca/TP-LINK-TL-WN725N-Wireless-Adapter-Miniature/dp/B008IFXQFU/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_img_1

My router is a Linsys WRT54G.

I can connect to the router using the adapter but the problem is this: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/4002659802

Everytime I start up my computer, the download speed is fine but after like 5 minutes it goes down but the upload speed is fine.. The download speed should be about 10Mbps as it is on any other device I try in the same room I have another computer using a TP-Link TL-WN851ND Wireless N300 PCI Adapter, 300 Mbps that connects perfectly.

I contact TP-LINK support but there is nothing they can do.

I think the adapter is the problem as any other device works perfectly fine so I thought of buying TP-Link TL-WN881ND Wireless N300 PCI Express Adapter, 300 Mbps, WPS Button, 802.1b/g/n, Support 64/128 Bit WEP, WEP, WPA/WPA2 because my computer only has a PCI Express slot available and because the outside antenna might help connect to the router.

Solution
The 20 minute download slowdown is often due to the adapter overheating. Feel it, and they often get quite hot. At one point i had 3 wifi adapters that I rotated between because on a hot day I kept needing to unplug them and cool them down.
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the driver. If the issue persists, it is likely the hardware if other devices function normally in the same location. I would contact TPlink support and get it replaced under warranty.

Best to get another USB wifi as a backup anyway, and see if the speeds are better before going nuts trying to isolate this.

I contacted TP-Link support but I realised that everytime I turn on my computer the download speed is fine for like 20 minutes so I wonder if the problem is somewhere else like maybe th PSU is not providing enough power or the CPU is overheating or something.
Here are my specs:

The problem is that I tried touching it and it is not hot or anything plus I tried it in my brother's computer ans it worked fine for more than an hour. The only difference between mine and his is that his is closer to the router. Do you think that could be it and if so, what should I do if I can't move my computer closer to the signal.

I know that being further may decrease the signal but not that much considering that any other devices I own work perfectly in the same room and I tried Vistumbler, there is only one signal and I get about 62-64% signal.
Another thing I would like to add is that whenever my internet gets crappy, it slows down the internet of all others devices trying to use the connection even if it works perfectly with 3-4 devices other than my computer

Not all USB adapters are very good. Sometimes, the internal pci adapters inside of PCs and notebooks work better, because they connect to internal wireless antennas. Moreover, from the description of your problem, "N150" (so one stream only) doesn't strike me as a very high end piece of hardware.

Frankly, it's about time to throw the G-router into trashcan and buy something newer. I'd consider using the G-only router only if PCs on my lan don't need to transfer stuff to each other over wlan, and the internet connection speed is under 20Mbit. Otherwise, the g will be slowing you down. The N-only routers will be going to be a dinosaur soon too.

I'd consider at very least a budget AC router from a reputable vendor, such as a TP-Link Archer C7 v2, whose price often dips down to $90 on amazon. Once the router is in place, you can then connect with a dual-stream wifi adapter, which will effectively double your link speed.
