Wireless Network Adapter Issues

All of a sudden last night, I was playing a game and my ping started fluctuating like crazy. It would go from around 50ms to 800ms and sometimes even 4000ms. Now after turning off my anti virus software and troubleshooting the issue, nothing has changed. It is still the same issue today. I am constantly needing to reset the wireless network adapter. I have no idea why the adapter is needing to be reset. Any advice is appreciated!

Reboot your router and modem, check for a firmware update on the router, check for a driver update for the WiFi adapter, try things again. Is this only happening on one system? Does the same thing happen on a wired connection?
