wireless network adapter

I have a linksys wusb600n wireless adapter that I'm trying to connect to my computer that is running xp and I have lost my installation cd for it. But, I did go online and downloaded the latest firmware and updated the software but when I tried to install the program on my computer manually. I can't get it to connect to my network. In the right hand corner where the computer is at, there is a red X on the computer. Can anybody help me with this problem?

did you download the right driver? there is a hardware version V1.0 and a V2.0

the X could mean the network card is disabled or has the wrong drivers.

have you tried a different USB port?

Yeah I did download the right version and that is v2. But it's still not working out for me. Do you have any other solutions?
