Wireless Network Options for Desktop

Hello there. I currently have an Archer T6E AC1300 that stopped working after the most recent Windows 10 Update. I believe it was the September 11 2018 update (installed on September 12). I've Googled online a list of fixes that would supposedly resolve the issue. Unfortunately for me, I'm more than halfway the list and nothing has worked. It's the "Can't connect to this network" thing.
List of fixes: https://windowsreport.com/windows-10-cant-connect-this-network/.

Outside of the list, I tried updating my Windows 10 to the most recent update. I also uninstalled updates-- but cannot rollback to the version before the September 11 2018 update. I tried a system restore but after almost an hour of wait, it wasn't successful since an error occurred stating that a certain file could not change. An antivirus software should be disabled. I don't have any Antivirus-- I only use Windows Defender.

That was a long introduction. On to the main point, I would like to know whether a wireless network adapter would be better over something like a WiFi Range Extender with ethernet port? I am not allowed to use an ethernet cable directly to my modem (Not allowed to have cables on walls since the modem is very far away.) So, I thought of a WiFi Range Extender with an ethernet port. Is that a better option? Something like this: https://www.amazon.ca/TP-Link-Extender-Repeater-Housing-RE305/dp/B01N8ROH7G/ref=sr_1_7?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1536825256&sr=1-7&keywords=tp-link+range+extender.

Thanks in advance.
