Hi I recently just upgraded my router to support the speeds I was paying for. Hardwired on my desktop is now around 133Mbps. My router is a tri-band and I have my phone and laptop on the 5Ghz wireless band and speeds are still around 130Mbps. Well for other reasons im not going to get into I am unable to us my either-net cord for my PC now and am forced to use wireless. My PC had an old wireless adapter that could only use 2.4Ghz at speeds of 18Mbps so today i upgraded to a TP-Link AC1300 Wireless Dual Band PCI-E Adapter. So now I can connect to the 5Ghz band and im getting around 17Mbps still. Did I just buy a crappy Wireless Adapter or is something else going on?

Try to reorient the PC so that the antenna is not blocked from line of sight from the router to the extent possible. Cases made of metal can have interference with wireless signals. This would explain the xbox not having the connection issue as they are built inside plastic cases.

Should that fail, i would run Windows troubleshooter on the card. Instructions can be found here: https://bit.ly/2LFzSHT

Should it come to the point of the card still giving you trouble, i would encourage you into looking to see if you can get a replacement or refund.

Wireless networks tend to be very picky as a lot of outside interference will slow them down. Particularly 5G networks.

Assess the path of the wireless network.
How many walls is it going through?
Does the path cross a radio/microwave/cordless phones or anything that may interfere with the signal?
Is the distance between the router and PC too far?

2.4G Networks are more suited for long ranges or High interference areas
5G networks are more suited for a short distance and low interference areas.

What speeds are you getting on your Xbox? If you arent getting those speeds on your xbox, it may be a problem with the network. If you are getting appropriate speeds on your xbox, it may be an issue with the WLAN card or your PC
