Wireless printers won't work with windows 7

Hello,
I have an HP laptop with a Netgear G Router and am looking to buy a wireless printer. It seems the printers I am most interested in indicate you need an N Router and that it won't work with a G Router. Is that true? It seems most printers indicate a need for an N router.

I'd take it up with the printer manufacturer -- generally it would not be in their interest to exclude g which is probably still the most widely used wireless standard and most devices that support n will routinely support g
