Wireless Range Extender

My house is pretty big and I am going to need a good wireless extender. House itself is 1560 sq. ft and my garage is detached and about 10 ft away. Garage is approx same size as house with office rooms in back. Any suggestions welcome. Would like to keep price close to $100 if possible. My router is Asus RT-AC66U.

Depending on your router location and most importantly, your house layout, you will need more than 1.
rule of thumb - you need to place the extender every other 3 walls, give or take, depending on the house.
if multi floor, you need to extend also on height...

just note that you will halve the speeds on the wifi extender networks. also you will have different wifi SSID.
In my opinion, for large house and best speeds, go with AP's Ethernet connected to the router - this means you have to fit cables from router to the Access Points.
