Hey all, about 6 months ago I got a new Superhub 2 router from Virgin Media. I didn't see much difference in performance but I still was able to access the internet so that's what all matters to me.
Up in my bedroom, I struggle to get wifi signal on my iPhone and desktop computer. So I use a TP-LINK WN722N network adaptor to connect to internet which works fine.
If I can remember correctly, the only new feature on the Superhub 2 I was introduced was the 2G and 5G mode. I was told with 5G, I can connect to it from a distance. For example, outside from my garage but only with certain or newer devices. My iPhone 5C is however compatible as I tested it but only when stood next to the Superhub 2. I went in the garage, garden, up in my bedroom and I couldn't connect to 5G only 2G. So something is wrong here.
Now my problem is, I always struggled to connect to wifi on my iPhone up in my bedroom. I had this problem with Superhub 1 and now with Superhub 2. I managed to get around this by using a TP-LINK WR702N as a wireless repeater. It worked perfectly, my iPhone wifi signal were full bars all the time, never disconnected and fast speeds.
When Superhub 2 arrived, that's when I started to have problems. I configured the wireless repeater to connect with Superhub 2. My iPhone and other devices still shows full wifi bars but it will rarely connect. One day it will connect fine with no problems as it did with Superhub 1 and one day it will never connect. No error messages appear on my iPhone or computer, it's on connecting loop forever.
So now I like to ask if anyone else has a similar problem and know how I can fix it? I don't think it's a problem with my wireless repeater. It must be something to do with Superhub 2. I did put back my old Superhub 1 and everything worked perfectly.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.
