I am trying to use a Netgear DGN2200 wireless Router/Modem combo unit as a wireless range extender (Repeater) by using the DD-WRT frimware. My main Router is a Netgear D6200

I have checked on the DD-WRT Router Database (www.dd-wrt.com/site/support/router-database) and on the Supported Routers page (www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices) and not been able to find my specific model of router as being supported or even as not supported.

I have managed to find a (what looks to be) very similar model, the WNR2200, listed as supported.

--------------------

Has anyone else managed to get DD-WRT working on a DGN2200? Is it safe to jump in and try it with the WNR2200 being supported?

I am unable to use the inbuilt Wireless Repeating function because it will only work in Wireless G mode, I require wireless N.

You will not find routers that have a modem built in with support for third party firmware. There are license issues with the drivers for the modem part of the router.

You would have to do a lot of research to be sure the radio and cpu chips are the same if you try to load a non dsl image to a dsl router. People have reported some success, obviously the dsl part of the device will not function.

I suppose it depend how hard the unbrick process is. If it is easy to go back to the factory firmware you could try images.

I suspect though you would have to build your own custom image with out any wan support. I have seen discussion that individuals can get dsl drivers but can not redistribute it.........way too much work for me, I...
