I had dd-wrt installed on my Netgear R6250 router, but because I'm not very good with networking and for some reason it wasn't working very well I tried to update the firmware with Netgear's latest release for the model. The router is now listed as NETGEAR in my wireless list, and is completely open to the public. When I try to connect, the connection is ALWAYS limited. I have reset it, pressed every button, tried with different computers, tried ethernet, but it is always limited. I can't configure the router because the connection is limited. I have run out of ideas and am facing the fact that I might have to buy a new router. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Solution
Do a full 30-30-30 reset on it:

1. when the unit is powered on, hold down its reset button for 30 seconds
2. while still holding down the reset button, unplug the router from power and hold for an additional 30 seconds
3. still holding down the reset button, turn on power to the router again and hold for 30 more seconds

thank you, I will try this and tell you if it works.

I did that, but the I still have limited access when connected to the network. Also, after switching from dd-wrt it changed the name to NETGEAR, but the default name is netgear58. After that reset it was still NETGEAR. If that wasn't supposed to be a factory reset, what is?
