Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, I wasn't entirely sure where else to do so. Okay, fairly simple question really that I tried to look up but was unable to find an answer that I was able to understand clearly.
I have recently had issues in my apartment building with car break-ins and I fear that my car may be targeted as well so I am looking in to setting up a camera just to stick in my window (which has an excellent view of almost the entire lot for my building that currently has no surveillance).
The problem is that since I live in an apartment I have no real need for any sort of 'professional' surveillance equipment and I am completely new in the area of it so I have no clue how it works. From what I understand, many cameras require some sort of separate recording device. I would prefer one that can simply hook up to my computer and record directly to it or one that does not require additional components if possible.
I found this device, which seems to be what I may be looking for, and fairly cheap as well, but as I said, I have absolutely no experience with surveillance and am very unsure about it.
Does this camera record to my computer, or some sort of third party website that allows me to view it at will without additional instruments/expenses on my end? If not, could someone please help me out on what I could do that would do this or something similar to this? I would be very grateful.
One last thing, if this camera is something I'd be looking for, but you may know of a better one for a similar price please let me know. I would like to get something that will last but is still inexpensive as I have a baby on the way and intend to use it as a in-room monitor later as well. Thanks in advance for any help, and again I apologize if this is in the wrong forum.
EDIT: Not sure if this would make a difference for ability to record video to my computer, but here are my specs: http://puu.sh/aRMUu.txt
