Wireless Xbox 360 controller won't connect to pc

I just bought an xbox 360 wireless windows controller and I have followed all the guides, it still wont connect, when i press the connect buttons on the reciever and the controller the reciever light stays solid as if connected, but the controller won't stop flashing

Throw it on the wall really hard and it should work. LOL JK. That does work sometimes. Ok, forget what i said before. The flashing either means that your wireless battery is dead and you need to charge it or you need to sync it again. If both dont work, return it asap.
