WirelessHDD for storing pictures

I have a question, I'm not sure if this is the right thread but ill ask.

I edit a lot of photos and I have a laptop and desktop that I use to edit, what would be the best way to store my pictures so that I could access the pictures from either computer.

Best way I think would be a NAS connected to your network. The cheapest route might be a usb external drive attached to your wireless router (if it has that capability)
