Wiress keyboard and Mouse Disconnects

About a week ago, my wireless keybaord and mouse started disconnecting randomly. When i put my computer on , it isnt connected, so i put it in all the usb slots/ports until it works (takes ages sometimes). Twice today i was playing Far Cry 4, when half way into playing it, it disconnected! Writing this thread, thank god it works, but who knows, in half an hour it will stop working?

An idea I might have is that where the usb is plugged in (at the back on my pc), it overheats when playing Farcry 4 and so disconencts? is that even possible? I really need a solution as i got lots of work to do and cant risk keyboard and mouse being down. All windows updates are installed! Do i buy s new wireless kayboard and mouse? a gaming one?

I would try a new set of batteries in it.

Yes, things can overheat, consider a USB extension cable to get the receiver to a cooler spot with better reception.

In the end, wired keyboards just are more reliable, and don't have these issues.

Batteries are fine, i have rechargeable one. Shall i just get a new keyboard? a gaming keyboard (does it have to be one plugged in or can be wireless?)...or shall i just buy a e.g. 7 Port USB Hub Expansion?

Expansion port won't likely help.

For my money, I would go with a wired keyboard from Logitech.

Why wont the expansion port help? whats its used for? maybe if the USB ports in my computer are broken? And i also play games so ill probably buy a cheap wired gaming keyboard/and mouse that i can also use for work.

A USB hub is to put multiple USB devices into one USB port. They are fine for low bandwidth, like attaching a few flash drives at once, but I would not put my keyboard through it.

Yes, wired, gaming keyboard and mouse is the easy fix here.

ok, last thing. when i put usb in for wireless keyboard and mouse i get 'usb device not recognised'...and 'Code 43: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems'.

Try the USB adapter in a different port, and also in a different computer.

The adapter may have gone bad, explaining the issues.

I just ended up buying a package with matt,mouse,keyboard and headphones thanks for your help though anyway
