Wiring PC to repeater

I have (what I think is) a pretty basic question that I can't seem to find an answer to anywhere.

I have a PC with a flaky WiFi radio so I'm trying to wire it to a nearby repeater/AP that my WiFi-less TV is connected to (and working just fine).

The repeater/AP (not sure what mode it's in) seems to be working fine, but the PC get no internet connection when wired to it. When I wire my TV to the AP and try to connect to the network, the AP is "transparent" - It's just as if I'm connecting the TV to WiFi -enter WiFi password etc. - even though the TV has no WiFi.
But when plug my PC into the same port on the AP, I get no internet connection and no apparent way to connect to my home net through the AP.
I don't want to reset the AP because:
1) I can't seem to get wired connection to the admin port to reconfigure it.
2) It works fine for my TV and I don't want to mess that up.
By the way, when I hard-wire my PC to the cable modem, I immediately get a connection. So the PC's ethernet adapter (and setup) seems to be working fine.
I think I'm just not getting an IP address through the AP, but I don't know what to do about it.
How do I get my PC wired to the repeater/AP?

It seems what you are actually describing is a wireless bridge, but what's strange is that you are entering the wifi password into the TV. The bridge might be a proprietary device that is only meant to work with the TV. Can you provide the make and model?

Airlink AP671W. I just discovered my TV IS connected via WiFi, even though the options were only "wired" and "AP", no "WiFi". I thought it odd that I was entering the WiFi PW for a wired connection, but I just figured maybe the Airlink was set up to have "transparent" wired connections that just routed the wire connection to the WiFi net.
I think the Airlink really is set up as a WiFi repeater, because I see it as a separate available network on WiFi devices. ( I set it up 3 or 4 years ago).
(When set up as a WiFi repeater, what if anything can the 4 RJ ports be used for besides device config?)
Thanks for the help. Since the TV's not on it and I just installed a new, powerful Motorola WiFi cable modem that has a nice strong signal everywhere I need it, I'll get the Airlink manual and set it up as a bridge (I think it would be called) to get local wired ports on my WiFi network (if that device allows).
