I have an Akaso Brave 4 action camera that has a tiny button sized mono microphone inside of the thing that does a terrible job picking up audio. I want to remove the mic and replace it with a jack. The microphone I want to use is a stereo shotgun mic with 3.5mm connector. (I already have a stereo jack) How should the wiring be to make it work? the mic will be outputting a stereo signal and I want it to pick up both channels and cram it into the one.

You will need a mixer to do that.

If you wanted to build something this link might help

I'm not sure that it's compatible with mics. There is an ask question button there so you could find out,
You could also simplify it by using two resistors instead of a pot for each channel.

Hmm that may not be the best solution, do you perhaps have any experience using only the L channel of a shotgun mic? would using it mono even matter? if I used it mono how could/should I wire the jack in to be mono?
