Wish to give CCNA exam

Hi

I am very much interested in giving CCNA exam but How am I to know 1600 pages of CCNA materials , if I am required this for exam? I am planning to study from Cisco press published book on CCNA

It's an exciting exam and certification. I took a formal $2500 CCNA course about 15 years ago and passed it the first try. Only 20% students passed it the first time in that class. I then self-studied again about 5 year ago and passed it again.

Cisco Press published books on CCNA along will not be enough for first time learners of Cisco technologies. To spend as little as possible and to self-study, I recommend to take some Udemy courses on CCNA and related topics. These Udemy courses are about $99 to $100 and are much cheaper than $2000 to $4000 classes you need to attend personally, and those expensive in-class courses sometimes take only few intensive days that may be just too fast and too intensive and mostly aimed for working professionals who are paid by their companies to take the actual courses.

Going to a classroom to study CCNA is not a prerequisite to take CCNA exam(s). If you have enough good and right study materials, you can pass it given at least few weeks of dedicated study time.

In addition to study materials, most CCNA test takers will also need to build a mini CCNA lab with real Cisco routers. These CCNA labs can be found on eBay for relatively inexpensive prices ranging from $300 to $600 est.

If you don't want to buy that and have confidence to pass the simulated lab section of the exam, just get some simulation programs online for about $200.

The book I prepared to take it both times is the study guide written by Todd Lammle. Newer editions are co-written by Todd Lammle and William Tedder. This is the ONLY technical study book about CCNA that's not dry and boring to read, the best for first time exam taker.

CCNA is a unique exam because it covers a lot topics that make you forget the earlier ones when you are studying the later chapters. But it's a true test for you ability. If you can self-study and pass this exam, you could pass just about any certification exams.

And the final advice is to get/join/start a study group about IT certifications. It's much easier to study in a group.

In some languages (eg Russian) "to take an exam" is translated as "to give away an exam" 😉
