So whaddya wanna see in Civ 4? What features would you add if you had the
chance to request them?

I'd really like to see a "Battle" screen like in Heroes of might and magic
or Age on Wonder. You can wander the map and play as usual as much as you
like but when it comes time to battles, show all the troops lined up in a
seperate screen and let us either micro manage the battle or have a rousing
AI controlled battle.

Another thing that bothers me is what a pain in the ronk-er-roo the
Governers screen is. It's a good idea but I'd like to know more of what it
affects. Does it affect the workers? The land resource use? The
wonders/improvements it chooses? For example, once you get railroads, I'd
like to be able to direct all the workers to work on roads.

I like that. You must have played that ancient game "Sun Tzu's Art of War"
or maybe Superpowers. This IS a strategy game, but when it comes to battles,
the game just "rolls" a few dice and the player with the best and most toys
usually wins. I'd like to be able to have, for example, archers take out
some of the opponents stronger units before bringing in swordsmen to "clean
up". Of course, it would only work with armies that have different units,
since each time you have a "non-army" skirmish it's always just one type of
unit.

I think I heard "PowerSlave2112" <ps@ilu.tn> whisper something like this

Now that was a great game back then. The REAL Art of War, where strategy
did make the difference. Oh those good ol'days...

Would be fun to incorporate some of the strategypart in Civ IV battles,
though I think too much micro-management on warfare would make it a
completely different game. After all Civ IS a simulation of a
civilization and not a war game. Though indeed giving you the choice, as
mentioned above, between playing it out yourselve or just have it played
out by the AI would give Civ IV that little bit extra that makes an
already great game even better.
