Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

hey guys i have a question,
i want to buy the blood and wine dlc from my local store because it has the gwent cards included in it ( 28$ for blood and wine + cards ) and the package says : '' no disc, pc digital download ''
is it safe to assume that the base game which i had purchased on steam will be compatible with this so i wont have any problems?

No problems, it will be compatible. You will get an activation code for Steam so that you can trade it on your Steam install for the download.
