I have no choice but to connect my PC to a TV right now. It's an ok TV, 1080p, but only 60ghz.
My rig has a gtx 980.
My question is, should I have G sync on?
Thanks

Solution
Not GSYNC because that requires a GSYNC compatible display. You can run VSYNC to eliminate tearing though. That will limit the framerate to match your TV's refresh rate (probably 60fps).
Thanks bud. Got a bit confused with my Vsync and Gsync.....haha.
Just hoping the game looks good on my TV? Ps4 games look great. And been playing Elite dangerous in the PC, and it looks fine too. No doubt when I get a decent monitor I'll realize what I've been missing. Thanks again.

A TV is fine if you mostly play console ports. I have had my main gaming PC connected to my TV right alongside my consoles for the last 3 years. It's basically just a console that looks better and plays at higher framerates. I prefer sitting on the couch with my wireless 360 controller and surround sound setup to sitting at a desk any day.

It can become an issue with games designed specifically for PC. Games like Civ V, Diablo 3, and Sim City have font that is unreadable because it's so small when you are looking at a TV screen from across the room. They are really designed to be played on a monitor 18" or so from where you are sitting.

I also don't like games that require a mouse and keyboard when I'm sitting on the couch. I use my controller for anything that has native controller support, including first person shooters. I built a secondary PC out of my spare parts as I upgraded my main machine over the years. This gave me a somewhat capable machine for those games that are just better at a desk.

Steam in home streaming is great for this purpose too. It will let you use the hardware of your main PC to play games on another PC that isn't built for gaming.
