- Hello everyone,

Would I get a significantly better game play from a 970 rather than a 770? I am getting a lot of lag on the Witcher, which I know is a very good game and I want to play it badly. If it will make a significant difference, where would I be able to trade my old 770 in for money?

- Thanks,
Cheez

The 970 will be an improvement, but probably not enough to justify the cost and hassle of having to sell your 770. If you are going to upgrade I would recommend getting a substantial upgrade like a 980 or 980ti.

I run 970 SLI and 1440p resolution and W3 brings this system down like a Crysis game. But to answer your question, yes, get the 970. W3 uses about 2.5GB of VRAM on my settings, so not only are you dealing with a much slower card, you are dealing with 2GB VRAM (vs. 3.5GB full speed VRAM of the 970). If I were running a 1080p monitor, I would not justify going with spending $200 more on a 980 which only offers at best 15% better performance (and the 970 can easily be overclocked to 980 performance...I'm doing it).
