Hi ,
I have heard and seen so much about the witcher that i now want to get it, however when i looked up benchmarks i saw in the comments how bad amd was yet i have never had a problem in the past. I was just wondering if you had, had any experience you could share with me. I have a i5 4670k overclocked to 4.2ghz 8gb ram r9 280x , liquid cooling and about 600-650w psu. I would be looking to run it on 3 screens could you give me any ideas about if it would be viable.

Solution

I'd look at the 390, 390X, Fury, or Fury X on the AMD side, but honestly Witcher 3 is going to play better on Nvidia hardware with EVERYTHING on (i.e. Hairworks), if I were you I'd get a 970 or a 980 if this game means a lot to you. With my 780Tis, hairworks on+SSAO I get this:
2015-05-20 22:23:31 - witcher3
Frames: 7441 - Time: 106346ms - Avg: 69.970 - Min: 57 - Max: 79 @1080p
@3840x2160 DSR I'm around 35 FPS with SLI.

Crossfire did not work for me on this game, only SLI did.
Thank you very much so on 5760 it will be unplayable, thank you very much, do youy know anything about the new r9 380x as with 3 screewns and games advancing so rapidly i feel as if i need an upgrade

Thank you very much for your answer and am not that fussed to go and buy a new card, anyway i have three screens whihc were expensive so would like to stick with amd for eyefinity as it is much easier than nvidia from what i have heard and also the new r9 300 series has the same pci 3.0 connector as the r9 280x from what i have heard. Just wondering if i was to buy one of the new cards e.g the 390x would i need to upgrade my ram or motherboard as i already have liquid cooling.

Yeah, if your mobo works with an R9 280X you will be fine, just make sure your PSU has the recommended wattage and 2 6pin connectors. You should be OK with a 4670k+390X on 650W. Power draw will be around 500W.
