How do I make WMP my default player?

Go to Tools > Options in WMP and then to the "File Types" tab. From there you
can select what file types you want WMP to use as default.

Right now my default player is Realplayer. How do I change it to WMP?

Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs>Set Program Access & Defaults.
Click on 'Custom' Then select WMP for your default.
