WNR2000v4 - slow download speed

I have a WNR2000v4 and all devices connected to it using wifi have slow download speeds, about 2 MB/s or so max. My desktop is connected to it using a cable and I'll get upto 11-12 MB/s download speed max. I've reset the router back to factory settings. I've tried changing channels. I've turned off QoS. I've tried everything I can think of. When I download at work using my laptop I can get 6+ MB/s(about what my works internet connection is capped at). But at home I can't get past 2 MB/s.

2MB/s == 16Mb/s which is the limit for a wireless "G" connection. On the wireless setup screen on the router (same one you change the channel), what is the "Mode" set to?

It's set to "Up to 300 Mbps"
