I have a pretty general question. I know that ASUS boards are top notch product and I would hate to think my board is dead so maybe you guys can give me some insight. This has totally stumped me. When I press the power button all the fans run and the hd access light is on but the computer fails to boot. No video, no beeps. ALSO the power light around the on button is OFF which did not occur until I discovered it wouldn't boot. My question is.. Could this be my motherboard trying to tell me it is not getting sufficient power somewhere? Any advice would be greatly appreciated and I will gladly answer any questions. Thank you for reading.

I have also ruled out my video card and tried on board video, swapped RAM slots and unpluged the hd and disk drive. Reseating everything should go without saying. Popped out the cmos battery too. Like I said im stumped, its down to either the PS or the mobo at this point. I keep my processor nice and cool and always watch my temps so I doubt it overheated while I was sleeping. Hoping to god all I need is a PS because I cant afford a board right now.

AHHAA!!! Turns out I have two bad capacitors on my mobo and thats a catch 22 because this can cause a PS failure as well. I post this hoping that someone with the same problem googles they're answer here, this site ROCKS. Thanks to the webmaster for being PS3 handi-capable. Unlike others lol... PE@CE!

dude, i ahd the exact same issue! did you shut your PC off before you went to bed? i dont think it is my HDD, psu, or video, so that leaves mobo, but the mobo is new,, its a lower end asus board. i forget the exact model number.
