Wolfdale CPU and BFG 650i Ultra motherboard

I am in the process of building a new system and have a 650i ULTRA motherboard from BFG...I want to get a new wolfdale cpu (E8400) I know I will need to flash the bios for the board to recognize the cpu but my question is do I need to have another cpu to get the system up and running before I flash...or can I just pop in the wolfdale and be able to flash with that...

I just spoke to BFG tech help and the guy really didnt seem to know what he was talking about....He told me that the 650i wont support the new wolfdale chips...but on their website they have a bios update for it...I dont know what to do...I really dont want to buy the chip and find out that I cant use it...Does anyone know for a fact that the 650i ULTRA will support a E8400 with a bios flash or no?

The other question they couldnt answer is if I will be able to flash the bios with the E8400 installed...or do I need to have another chip in and working (a celeron perhaps) to get the bios to flash...I really dont want to spend another $40 for a cpu just so I can flash the bios...

I am having second thoughts about this cpu and might just say heck with it and get a E6750 and be happy with that...Anyone have any suggestions/facts that can help me out

650i supports Wolfdale 45nm? Not so sure about that. Support was probably right. Regardless, the BIOS could not be updated with an E8400 installed unless the board supports the processor.

Well..I placed my order today for me CPU...I decided to go with a E6750....I am hoping that I will be able to pop this cpu in and have no problems with the 650i ultra recognizing it...I have a Zalman 9500A heatsink/fan combo for cooling the E6750..I think that will give me sufficent cooling over stock and if I want to OC a little..I think it will handle the added heat fine...
