wondering how to do a factory reset on my dell 1501 espiron

i was useing this laptop with the origonal operateing system witch was vista but it was giveing me so many problems and it was so slow ,,anyways i did a fresh install of windows xp pro and i cant seem to get it up and running so i was hopeing that someone know a way to factory reset this old dog of a comp... ?????? thanx

when installing xp, did you delete any other partitions on the hard drive?
