Hi, this morning I woke up to finding that my laptop monitor was showing no signs of life. When I got the chance, I started opening up my laptop to find the cause and found that a cable in the hinge of the screen was cut. (probably from being caught under it) I was wondering if I could just solder or tape them together with a piece of copper wire to fix this, or if I should take some other measure.

(Note: yes, the wires look to be different colors but the black on one of the wires is just a coating which reveals the white coating underneath.)
