I wanted to know how well this computer will run with Windows7, I was wondering what frames I would be getting on games like Arma3, Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battlefront, etc. Thank you!

Windows 7 can run on virtually anything these days, no trouble in that department. As for games, they'll run pretty darn good at 1080p and even some 1440p - heck, some games like League of Legends can run at 4K. That is, until your power supply explodes because you cheaped out and didn't get a reliable high quality unit from a reputable company like Corsair, EVGA, Antec, or SeaSonic.

Only medium-high? I thought it would max out most of the games.

Sorry I thought I read R9 380, yes the R9 390 should have no problem with anything you throw at it at 1080p.

As long as you replace that garbage PSU.

What if I can't replace the PSU?

I can't really switch parts out, as for PSU and the processor, what isseus do you think i'll have? I should be able to run games like Battlefront and higher end games like that with no problem, right?

So you already bought the stuff? If you didn't buy it, why can't you switch out parts?

The FX 8350 may struggle depending on the type of game. It's an old CPU based on years old of architecture. A modern day I5 surpasses it in every aspect when it comes to gaming.

I'd be buying it used, I currently have an i5 4670k w/ GTX 760 so I don't know if this'll be a downgrade or upgrade. I'm selling my computer to a friend.
What do you think about this: Intel i7 3930k, 3.2ghz 6core w/HT unlocked cpu
New Alienware CPU water cooler.
16gb ddr3 1600mhz,
2tb WD hard drive
MSI GTX 980 4gb gaming card
New Corsair CX 850 Power supply

You have one of the best CPUs and are going to replace it with an older, weaker, hotter one called the FX 8350? Why?

Alienware cooler? Yuck.

CX850? Yuck.

Older I7 3rd Gen CPU? Yuck.

GTX 980, horrible value GPU? Yuck.

😉

B/c the Graphics Card's issues. i have some issues in some games and upgrading the graphics card doesn't really work, parents are giving me the option to either 1. Buy a new computer and sell my current. or 2. Keep this one. The other computer I found with i7 3930k and msi gtx 980 is pretty good, no?

The power supply on that computer is pretty weak so overclocking it may not be a good idea, right?

Please explain these issues you are having. Actually, first and foremost, please list all your current specs so we can see what you have. Not what you are thinking of changing or upgrading to, list what you have. Then tell me what your problems are with games. Also tell me what GPU you have and what one you upgraded from (since you said upgrading didn't help, so that means you did upgrade).

I see, thank you. I'll just have to try to convince parents to upgrade the graphics card then, dunno if that'll be a possibility.

You need a VERY VERY good motherboard and cooling to do this otherwise its nothing but trouble. Not worth it for what you end up spending vs buying a current or previous gen i5.

Listen to Rogue Leader and me, getting an FX 8350 when you own a 4th Gen I5 is a terrible idea and a downgrade.

Gotcha, I'll have to trust you. Thank you guys both :)

It will cost you less money, and you will barely have to do much "work" as in all your programs will still be there etc.

If you want to get this going right now, get a GTX 970 for around $300 and be done with it. Your Computer will be way better than either of your choices.

CPU - Intel Quad Core i5 4670k(Never been overclocked but can be)
Ram -8GB 1866 MHz Kingston HyperX
GPU - EVGA GTX 760 OC Edition(Never been overclocked but can be)
Motherboard - Asus Z87-A HDD - 1TB Western Digital 7200RPM
Power Supply - Ultra 550w FTY 80 Plus Bronze

This is my current set up, any good suggestions for upgrades for a graphics card? I don't know what's compatible.

MERGED QUESTION
Question from Karbonlambo : "How well will this computer run?"

I never upgraded my gpu, I still have the same one, sorry for the misunderstanding. I have the issue of having a slow, freezing, which turns into a black screen and a looped sound of what was last happening before the freeze, then my monitor goes off and on and it says my graphics card crashed but has recovered. It happens on random games, I haven't figured out the cause yet, most frequently on CS:GO, I don't play it much but thats where I had most issues, I've played games like League of Legends and Arma 3 with no issues, I have had the issues on World of Warcraft as well. Mainly Rust, CS:GO, World of Warcraft, and that's about as far as I can remember for now. Specs are listed btw.

As Rogue said, GTX 970 is a good option, especially since power requirements are about on par with the GTX 760. So, what issues are you having with games? Also, I can't find an Ultra 550 FTY power supply anywhere online. I see an Ultra LSP 550, but not an FTY.
