Wondering if I can reuse my old Hyper 212 + bracket question

I have a hyper 212 I bought in lets say 2012ish. Still works perfectly fine to this day on cooling my i5-750 but Im upgrading to a i5-8400 and I wanted to know if its fine to use the same cooler or best bet to just buy a new one? I read that some of the newer ones use plastic parts so Im thinking the one I have might be better construction. Also thinking that its been in use so long it might be best to retire it. Also I know the i5-750 is 1156 socket and the i5-8400 is 1151 socket but would the bracket be the same? I know the cooler is cheap but I just figure "if it aint broke dont fix it."

It should still work with no new bracket. Just need new paste
