I wanted to pick up the witcher 3 and I was going to get it for PS4 but I heard that some of the new cards come with these games for free so I thought it be a great time to upgrade my card.

This is currently what I'm running. With a new card do you think I will be ok?.

Intel Core i5-3570K CPU @ 3.40GHz
AMD Radeon HD 7800 Series (Going to replace with a GTX 960 or 970
8.2GB RAM

Thanks in advance

No. Your CPU is good enough. Hopefully you have 8GB of memory at least on your motherboard. Only thing left is a video card that can push out those gorgeous graphics, and the 970 seems to be able to do that. The 7800 could probably do it at low settings, but there would still be spots where I think it would get pretty slow.

Thanks! Do you think I'll have any major issue. And what card do you recommend? I really want a GTX 970 but I'd be fine with something thats less expensive but still out classes consoles in looks

I've got the memory on my motherboard. I guess the main thing I was worried about was my CPU. I didn't want to kill my CPU You think my current can push out current gen graphics? I also wanna prepare for Arkham Knight. You think that will be more demanding than Witcher 3.

I can't really see it considering Witcher 3 every saying it's crysis quality graphics for this era

A friend of mine runs it 1080p 60-50 fps @high settings with AA and AO off with AMD 270x, so a gtx 960 will be able to do that and i believe this is more than console quality.
Now if you want everything maxed you definitely need a gtx 970 and your CPU is more than enough for both games.

That's really great to hear Octavecode. And I would love to have maxing out an option :)😀. You think the new batman game will be more demanding?
