Wondering if my motherboard is compatible with the cpu i want

I currently have a 760gma p34 fx motherboard and im looking into buying an AMD FX 8320 cpu, i was wondering if these two components would be compatible? im kind of new to this sort of thing so sorry if this seems obvious.

You're usually advised to get the fastest mid-range CPU you can for your chosen motherboard. Don't get top-of-the-range CPUs unless you've got a lot of spare cash, since the price-to-power ratio isn't cost effective.

Keep in mind the power-requirements of the AMD FX 8320 and check that your Power Supply Unit (PSU) can handle it with 50w-100w of spare power over-and-above the total power requirements of your PC. The AMD FX 8320 requires 125w of power.

I think you might want to head up to the 500's range, perhaps even higher. If you're looking to overclock you might wanna go even higher.

I would advise against getting the 8320 for that board. MSI says it will work, but the board has weak VRMs that will cause the 8320 to throttle under heavy loads unless you are running under ideal lab conditions or take extra steps to cool the VRMs. In practice, the 95 Watt 8320e or 8370e are the best CPUs that should be considered for that board.
