Hi everybody! I'm looking to upgrade to a new videocard(my old one is a 2gb 650), but I've never upgraded my PC by myself, and want to make sure that everything is compatible.

My current build:
mainboard: H77M-D3H
CPU: i5 3470 3.2 GHz
power supply: RS-600-PCAR-E3
RAM: 8gb (I'm planning to order 8 more with the gpu)

Will the 6GB ZOTAC GTX 1060 AMP edition be compatible?

Solution
Looked up your current build. That CPU and card should indeed be fine.
I also see your PSU is of very good quality.
The only thing I would recommend with doing your RAM is that you take advantage of the motherboard's Dual Channel capability.

The psu is fine for the demands of a low power system like a 3470 and 1060. It may not be the best quality, (or really even good quality) but it's really no worse than most OEM psu's. It would not be a bad idea to upgrade to something better (that doesn't mean bigger) like the Corsair CXM or XFX / Seasonic units (not XT's) one day, sooner would be better than later. But it'll work for now.

Thanks for the reply! Also, since I'm new at this, could you tell me what you mean by the Dual Channel capability?

ok, thanks! I'm thinking of getting an i7 in a couple of years and will probably upgrade to a better then

That entire system comes in at a maximum of about 250w, with average gaming usage closer to around 175w. It's already seen higher usage with a gtx 650, a gtx1060 will only lower demand. In no way will that psu ever see close to anything needed to push that to its limits. It's fine. Not that good, sure, but so over powered for its use it'll never get stressed enough to warrant 'catching fire'. At most you'd get a spark, a pop and then dead.

Would I replace it? Sure. Not even a thought to it. But thats me, I prefer quality in everything.
