Wondering if this graphics card would suit this cpu

Hello I recently ordered a gtx 1080 duke oc 8gb for my i7700k and I have had to downgrade and I was wondering would the 1070 be alright for the i7700k?

why not ... I run a gtx 960 with a i7 7700k. and I can play every game.

I have the Duke 1080 and have been very happy with it. Why do you have to downgrade?

1070 or 1070ti would be very good options.

Either of those GPU's would be fine with the 7700K.

I've run a GTX1080 and an i7-7700k for a good while now. A fairly balanced loadout, especially for something like 2560x1440@144hz where the GPU is the limiting factor. If you are running a 1080p 60hz screen, then you probably don't need a GTX1080 and the GTX1070 will be fine. But if you are seeking high refresh rate 1080p then the 1080/1070Ti is a good choice.
