Hey all! Question for you guys..
I recently built a new rig (as in, yesterday), and I'm having problems getting the graphics card to work correctly, output video signal, etc.
Case: Cooler Master Elite Mid Tower RC-310
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 700w
Motherboard: MSI H-61 E-23
RAM: Corsair XMS3, 8Gb 1333 Mhz PC3-10666 240-Pin
CPU: Intel i5-2500k 3.3 Ghz
GPU: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850
HDD: WD Caviar Blue 320Gb 7200 RPM 8Mb Cache
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit
All components are operating as normal, except for the GPU. I installed Windows, and the machine boots as normal. My GPU fans begin spinning, and power is connected via the 6-pin. However, if I try to connect my 1080p display to the GPU via a DVI-D cable, the display would enter power saving mode and not register output. It's getting signal, as it'll show a "No cable connected" signal if it can't register a connection from the monitor input to the output.
My first thought was the cabling. I then tried outputting via HDMI, and the same thing occurred. I then took the GPU out, and connected my display via the DVI-D connection on my mobo. My computer worked fine! I then decided to install the software that came with the GPU, and download the drivers from the AMD website. The GPU still wouldn't work..
I'm not sure if the problem is the card itself, or just the video outputs on the card, or what to think. If anyone could shed some light as to how to get this beautiful graphics card working, that would be killer.
Thanks so much, guys!
