Backstory:
I've been running windows 8.1 on my hard drive for over a year and finally bought an SSD. I originally had it hooked up as a secondary drive. The first time I used it, windows didn't detect it so I downloaded 'EaseUS partition manager'. I created a partition and it was detected and worked fine. After a month I decided to change to the ssd as a primary drive.

I unplugged the other two drives I had installed (main windows hard drive and a 2nd SSD) and put in my windows 8 CD. I got up to the 'Where to install Windows' screen, where upon selecting the SSD Windows said it couldn't create a partition. I tried playing with boot orders, didn't work. I tried going back to my old windows install and making 2 partitions on the SSD, still didn't work. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Solution
When it asks 'where', go to Custom.
Delete ALL the existing partitions, leaving one large space
Let Windows install to that, creating what it needs.
