Wont load up past logo

Earlier today we had a brown out. The houses power went on and off. Before it went on again i went to unplug my computers power cord to be safe. Not sure if i got it in time but now when i start my computer it loads to the windows 8 logo with a black background and stays there. I keep my computer on for days at a time. I dont know if its just gonna take a bit to load because of that? But any help or insight would be greatly appreciated.
