Hi, I just got some new components from Newegg, all brand new, And after assembling everything I couldn't get it to post at all. I connected the 8-Pin CPU Connector to me PSU and when I go to power on my PC it makes a "pseww" sound and wont turn on, the same thing happens when I only plug in a 4-Pin connector and when I us just 2-Pins My Monitor doesn't detect the PC Output. I fell like this should be a simple fix but I couldn't find for the life of me anything helpful in the User's guide for my motherboard or online. Any Info helps, thanks.

Solution
You need the 24 pin and the 8 pin connected, the cpu (&cooler) and 1 stick of ram for the pc to even attempt to boot up.
Make sure you have installed the 8pin EPS connector and not the 8pin PCIE/PEG connector which some people have managed to fit into the motherbd even though its not supposed to... <grin>
