Won't record gaming through OBS.

I am tired of waiting and i just wanna jump right in.

I have OBS on my computer and i really want to record gameplay of Rollercoaster Tycoon, but being a potato of a computer it won't record at all and i have no video adapter connected to it. it detects a source but its not a video adapter.

any way to outsmart this machine?

Unless you're using an Elgato or other capture card, the Video Adapter capture is worthless for you.
You want Display Capture (to capture whatever is on the monitor, including your desktop and other things you may not want recorded, but this is most likely to work)
or
Game Capture (which will only capture the game, but it may not work right as some games don't play nice, old games more likely to not play nice)
Or
Window Capture (if you're running RCT in windowed mode)

are these features built in with Windows 7? because were handling with ancient tech.

What features specifically are you talking about?
The options I listed are all OBS options.
It's possible your computer just isn't powerful enough to run OBS at all, or any screen recording software.

yeah, i'm in bad luck i got this in 2011. this thing ran lego universe somewhat smoothly

Not really, or it'd be prohibitively expensive.
But first, are you SURE you tried those other display capture options I listed?
(You'll have to delete or move the other ones added to the list if they aren't working)

tried everything, still wont record. the video adapter source in obs says Mobile Intel Radeon 4 Express chipset family, which is not even a video adapter.

"Video adapter source" isn't an option in OBS.
So what are you actually looking at?
