Saw the first one of the season, I was shooting at the time....at a clay
shoot!
Sunday morning, well foggy, first stand. My mate has a go at the first
pair of clays. Just as he breaks the gun, a 'cock flies over our heads
from behind and disappears into the woodland to great shouts of "'Cock
forrard" from all.
A big ah heck too. I await the next cold snap. Local prognosticator has
it for 2nd week of Dec(?!).

Saw seven today (Hampshire), although we did not go through the main
areas for them.
